Where can I begin looking for a two-night meditation stay?

Start with Lotus Pond in Hong Kong, which accepts enquiries for one or two nights. Confirm language and admission. Fixed-date retreats have separate deadlines and prerequisites; a short course is not automatically suitable for beginners. Compare the complete arrival-to-departure dates before arranging travel.

Our short answer

For one or two nights soon, ask Lotus Pond Temple in Hong Kong. For a dated programme for beginners, Taiwan has the next published options.

  • One or two nights, flexible dates Lotus Pond Temple / Plum Village Hong Kong. Lotus Pond accepts enquiries for one- or two-night temple stays outside its dated retreats.
  • A two-day camp for beginners Bliss and Wisdom Buddhist College. The next two-day camp is 5–6 December 2026; adults, including beginners, can request a bed when registering. English teaching is unconfirmed.
  • A dated introductory retreat Yixin Temple, Kenting. Yixin Temple in Kenting lists an introductory retreat for 22–24 January 2027 at NT$2,500. Check its admission conditions and language first.
  • Already an experienced meditator? Fa Hong Monastery / Hong Kong Insight Meditation Society. HKIMS lists a seven-day Insight Dialogue retreat at Fa Hong for 19–25 December 2026, for experienced meditators.

Plan a short meditation stay

Ask an organiser about its next suitable dates, admission and accommodation, or ask Still Mountain to help narrow down the options for your available nights.

We agree the work and any service fee with you before proceeding. The host confirms admission, dates and accommodation.

If you have only a few days, check the full arrival-to-departure period and the admission rules before choosing a retreat. A programme called “two-day” may require an additional arrival evening. A short course can still require earlier training.

In this research edition, the clearest compact options below are in Hong Kong and Taiwan. We have not established a comparable beginner-friendly, English-taught mainland meditation stay of one to four nights. That gap is a reason to enquire carefully, not to substitute a longer retreat.

Can I ask for two nights without joining a dated retreat?

Lotus Pond accepts enquiries for 1–2 nights of temple life. Confirm the language, daily programme and room. Fixed retreats have separate admission rules; Fa Hong’s 17–19 October 2026 event has ended. Check the next event’s dates and admission conditions. Official source

Hong Kong: enquire about one or two nights of temple life

Lotus Pond still accepts enquiries for flexible stays of one or two nights. The separate October 21–25, 2026 retreat has passed its published October 10 application deadline; no extension has been verified. Its four-night dormitory package was listed at HK$2,500 with bedding. Ask about flexible temple stays separately; their dates, language and room arrangements need confirmation.

Hong Kong: the October mindfulness weekend has ended

The October 17–19, 2026 Pause and Relax retreat has ended. HKIMS now lists a December 19–25 Insight Dialogue retreat at Fa Hong for experienced meditators. That seven-day programme is longer than this guide’s one-to-four-night scope; we have not verified a new short beginner retreat. Check each event’s own language and accommodation terms.

Keep ten-day retreats out of a weekend plan

The Goenka-tradition Vipassana centres in this directory publish full ten-day courses with arrival and departure days. Their shorter courses are for qualifying old students. They are not a way for a new student to sample two nights of a longer retreat.

A calendar entry is not a confirmed booking

Dated retreats can have application windows, screening and separate room allocation. Recheck the linked notice when you are ready to apply. For each option, confirm the complete stay, its language and its prerequisites together.

Questions about this experience

Which option is easiest to ask about for two nights?

Lotus Pond’s published temple-stay page explicitly discusses one or two nights by enquiry. Confirm a workable date, language and admission directly. This is evidence of an enquiry route, not live availability.

Are all short retreats suitable for beginners?

No. A short retreat can have its own eligibility and prior-training rules. Fa Hong’s October event welcomed beginners and has ended. Yixin’s ended October course required earlier training; its January 2027 introductory course has different admission conditions. Check the exact notice for the dates you want.

Does an English course title mean the teaching is in English?

No. Check the programme’s own language statement. Where English has only been documented for a different event, our comparison keeps the current language requirement unresolved.
