A place to practise.

Five Immortals Temple is a small Daoist temple in the Wudang range that houses foreign students in its own quarters. It publishes dated courses of one to three weeks in tai chi, sword, internal alchemy and Daoist medicine, with food and lodging included in the fee. Rooms are basic and can be damp, and meals are vegetarian. The next listed course runs 9 to 23 November 2026.

Where you will stay

Inside the temple: rooms for 1-3 people, men and women separate, basic facilities (squat toilets, warm shower), three vegetarian meals.

Time & commitment

Dated 2026 courses of 7 to 25 days. Remaining 2026 runs: 20 October-4 November (Dragon Heart Sword, 16 days) and 9-23 November (Beginner Daoist Medicine, 15 days). No 2027 schedule yet.

2026 schedule: 7-day courses 6,900 RMB (deposit 1,900 RMB); Dragon Heart Sword, 16 days, 9,900 RMB (deposit 1,900 RMB); Beginner Daoist Medicine, 15 days, 13,300 RMB (deposit 2,600 RMB); classes, food and accommodation included.

Joining from overseas

Overseas participants addressed. Adults able to sustain at least one hour of intense drill daily; Daoism track requires vegetarian diet and precepts; acceptance partly at teacher's discretion.

Ask about English. Confirm instruction, translation and orientation for your specific programme.

  • The temple's pages do not describe visa support.
  • Some 2026 courses show no fee and need a prior appointment.
